Problem w/ Blank Screen

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have just installed OSCommerce 2.2 on my web server and have configured the database and directories as defined in the instructions. I am able to load the catalog and admin sites with out issue. However, whenever I click on any other link I get a blank page displayed.

I have also searched the forums on possible issues related to this problem and I have seen several posts about $this. In an attempt to determine if this corrects the problem I opened the upload.php file and did not find $this = 'null'.

Below are steps I am following to see this error:

- http://www.milehisports.com/catalog/ (Page loads fine)

- http://www.milehisports.com/catalog/produc...ccd28e0c4aec67f (Blank Page)

- http://www.milehisports.com/catalog/produc...?products_id=16 (Product Shows)

Based on the information above, it appears that if I exclude everything beyond &osCsid= the page will show fine. If you would like to see my configuration files please let me know and I will post them. If you are looking at my site, keep in mind that I already have a shopping cart working that I am not too happy with and would like to keep this site up and running while a new one is being configured.

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

Vger,

Thank you for the prompt reply, but unfortunately that did not seem to correct the issue. Also the other shopping cart that is installed is using ASP and I am on a windows server that supports both ASP and PHP.

Here is a copy of my configure.php:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.MileHiSports.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.MileHiSports.com'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?

define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.MileHiSports.com');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.MileHiSports.com');

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');

define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');

define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/');

define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');

define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');

define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');

define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');

Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The above is for a site without a full ssl cert. You can call your site what you like, but entries in files should be lower case.

Vger,

I went ahead and changed everything to lower case. Also, I began configuring the secure connection information in preperation for the transfer of the active site. It would still appear that my site dies when the link attempts to load with the Session ID.

Thanks for your help and continued suggestions.

Anyone out there have a resolution for this. I have seen several posts on the forum where someone has had this problem and someone has attempted to help but never gets resolved.

I would like to correct this issue so I can get this working. Let me know if you need to see configuration files or setups. Thanks.

Just now when I clicked on the middle link to a product page in your first post it took me to the product page and it displayed fine - but after that all pages were blank. Provided that your http_cookie_domain is set correctly (you can try just yourdomain.com in place of www.yourdomain.com) then it looks as though there is a problem with the server your site is on.

Make sure you have the .htaccess file in the root of your shop - I had this problem and that sorted it.

Here's what I put in the .htaccess file..

# $Id: htaccess.dist,v 1.1.1.1 2005/08/16 08:31:30 sstolyarov Exp $

#

# This is used with Apache WebServers

#

# For this to work, you must include the parameter 'Options' to

# the AllowOverride configuration

#

# Example:

#

# <Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs">

# AllowOverride Options

# </Directory>

#

# 'All' with also work. (This configuration is in the

# apache/conf/httpd.conf file)

# The following makes adjustments to the SSL protocol for Internet

# Explorer browsers

<IfModule mod_setenvif.c>

<IfDefine SSL>

SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \

nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown \

downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0

</IfDefine>

</IfModule>

# Fix certain PHP values

# (commented out by default to prevent errors occuring on certain

# servers)

#<IfModule mod_php4.c>

php_value session.use_trans_sid 0

php_value register_globals 1

#</IfModule>
