cache and GZip compression

I might be wrong, but they are supposed to increase the speed of your shop by compressing the output.

 

Someone more experienced, please post here as I'm curious too.

1. google is your friend and partner in finding information...

 

2. gzip is a compression format, and in most cases will make your pages load faster.

 

3. cache is just what it states. it saves a cached version of certain elements, like the categories box, also purchased products +++. Reduces mysql queries and improves the load time of your pages.

 

In most cases very benificial for your site....

 

But depending on what kind of extra contributions you have installed, they might actually create problems/complications too...
