Just go back and set the permissions on

catalog/includes/configure.php and

catalog/admin/includes/configure.php

to 777 (rwxrwxrwx)

and re-run the installer.

That'll be 2?.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)

The PDF file mentioned in the original post does not show the error msg. one gets on a default install. Forget exactly which step it's at but one must create/upload these two files:

catalog/includes/configure.php

catalog/admin/includes/configure.php

Then change permissions to 777 -and- after install is complete and 'install' directory is deleted, one needs to change permissions to 644 for both files, for security purposes.
