NewdatabaseName_-_osc.configuration' doesn't exist

HI, I'm having some problems installing OsCommerce after migrating from one server to another - (different hosting control panels so no backup and restore, mores the pity)

So,

-I backed up all of my files & exported the sql with phpmyadmin.

-Uploaded all files to the new server.

-Created a new database.

-Changed the lines in my oscommerce.sql file:

-- Host: localhost

to

-- Host: 127.0.0.1

and

-- Database: `databaseName_-_osc`

to

-- Database: `NewdatabaseName_-_osc`

- Uploaded oscommerce.sql to the /install/ directory.

- Continue with the install and get almost to the end when this error screen appears:

New Installation

osCommerce Configuration

A test connection made to the database was NOT successful.

The error message returned is:

Table 'NewdatabaseName_-_osc.configuration' doesn't exist

Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings.

If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company

Can someone help out here - where have I gone wrong?

Thankyou so much,

Al

Hello JanZ,

I have no choice in the hyphens - these are added by the Ensim control panel by default.

The only part of the name that I can change is the end "osc" since "NewdatabaseName_-_" is by default the username of the hosting account.

OK, nothing you can do about that then.

Do you have phpMyAdmin available and has the osc sql actually run (do you see all the new tables in your database)? If not you can always run the file manually (catalog/install/oscommerce.sql) and then edit the configure.php files (there are two, one in catalog/includes and one in catalog/admin/includes) in a text editor and then upload them again with ftp.
