After input of database info, the installation stalls...

Here is the URL of the page I cannot get past:

/catalog/install/install.php?step=2

Here is my setup:

osCommerce, Milestone 2.2, Update 051113

PHP 5.0.4

PHP flags in my httpd.conf:

(I have confirmed these settings for the directory into which I am installing with phpinfo() ):

register_argc_argv On (not sure if this was necessary, but, suggested in another thread)

register_globals On

register_long_arrays On

I have searched the forums for relevent info and tried all tips I found.

I gretly appreciate any other adivice you can offer to help me get setup.

Im having the same problem

Basically, the screen just sits there, at INSTALL and UPGRADE. If you hit continue, you end up in the same spot. I set up t wo computers. One installed flawlessly, but this one is failing. I'm guessing its a PHP issue.

I have tried your suggestion, but, changing those variables has not fixed my problem...

here is my apache.conf entry:

<VirtualHost *:80>

ServerName myStore.com

DocumentRoot /usr/local/www/data/apache/myStore

php_flag register_globals On

php_flag register_long_arrays On

php_flag register_argc_argv On

php_flag allow_call_time_pass_reference On

php_value variables_order "EGPCS"

php_flag magic_quotes_gpc On

</VirtualHost>

here is is the output of running phpinfo() from a script within the same directory into which i am trying to install osCommerce - all the variables set in the apache.conf seem to recognized correctly for this folder:

Directive Local Value Master Value

register_globals On Off

register_long_arrays On Off

register_argc_argv On Off

allow_call_time_pass_reference On Off

variables_order EGPCS GPCS

magic_quotes_gpc On Off

I still get stuck at the same spot in the installation :(

I am on the FreeBSD platform. Also, I really only want the variables set for the specific folder into which I am installing osCommerce. The output of phpinfo() seems to indicate that they are set correctly. However, just to try all possibilities, I will see what happens when I set the variables site wide in the php.ini...

No difference when setting in php.ini...
