Hey guys,

 

I've been trying to get the USPS thing wokring, i've read a bunch of posts and tried to get everything fixed up.

So before any suggestions, here's what i got:

 

1. I got the Country and Zip Code in Admin/Shipping

2. I got weight on the item (testing only 1 right now)

3. I got my usps account in Production not Test

4. I even downloaded their program, ran it logged in and was able to check rates and all.

 

UPS is working.

 

And i'm still coming up with this error:

 

"United States Postal Service United States Postal Service

An error occured with the USPS shipping calculations.

If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner."

 

I've got orders comming in, and i got Flat Shipping rate going on for now.. but i really want to get the USPS thing going.

We have been experiencing this same problem. Did someone ever post a solution on this issue? Is there something in the config that we have forgotten?

I also have similar questions.

 

I am set up in Test mode...and don't see how to test? If someone could guide me to that point...then I will be on the same page with these to folks, and hoping for some guidance.

Have you contacted USPS and request they switch to the production server?

 

 

When you have completed your testing, email the USPS Internet Customer Care Center (ICCC). They will switch your profile to allow you access to the production server and will provide you with the production URL.

 

The ICCC is staffed from 7:00AM to 11:00PM Eastern Time.

I'm still in the process so I still get the error message. Let me know how make out.

Thank you for offering some help, I appreciate it beyond words! You know how frustrating this all gets LOL - I am creating this particular store for a dear friend that already uses her account via her Paypal cart...don't know if this means she is already in production "mode" ? I also found this posting on this topic and thought I might give it a shot as well. I thought perhaps you might want to check into it too, if you haven't already.

I just rerererereread the shipping module page. It looks like I never registered my business account with USPS. I was using my personal account information and it wasn't working.

 

I just registered my business for web tools and we'll see what happens.

 

The only reason I point out my major screw up is someone else may be making the same mistake.

We found our issue. The USPS sent the e-mail stating the account was live, but they forgot to actually shift the account fully to the live server. We went and created a new logon and had them place it on the live server via the phone and everything started working.

Hi everyone. I'm having the same problem as xilix, except with a twist. The USPS works fine for a previous customer who is logged in with an account. It only gives you the message if you create an account or try to purchase without an account. I'm stumped. Can someone point me in the right direction?
