Shared SQL Database

Hi,

I have a slight problem that one of my clients wishes to launch a few shops but wants to use just one database, therefore if I install a new osCommerce over the top of the site then I can see that there are going to be some problems in it overwriting everything.

Therefore would me changing the SQL data to give the new shops tables each a prefix for example "one_customers" and "two_customers" etc work?

If so how would I go about doing this, would I just need to change the database_names.php file or is there alot more too it?

Thanks

Chris

This is kind of pointless. There are several solid hosting companies offering setups with multiple databases for very reasonable prices.

Any solution which involves layering more than one store into a single database is bound to cause problems. It's unnecessary in today's environment.
