Can I build my oscommerce site on my server then transfer to another??

 

And if so do I just copy all the files over then edit the connection.php file?

Hi,

well yes and no.

 

I would say to save time, you should develop and make your first try on your home PC by installing an apache webserver an a MySQL DB.

 

Do not be afraid, for a couple of years, you should have been a GURU (or most likely) to do something like this, nowadays it is quite simple.

 

Try to download a package like XAMP (look for it in google) and simply follow the instructions.

 

Once you've done that, install and modify OSC as your wish to, and when you are ready to ramble.

Copy your files and send them through FTP to your server, and export your DB Tables through phpmyadmin in your online DB.

Edit your configuration files, and.....
