why are these N's showing up

On my category pages there are N's showing up at the top of the content box. There is 1 N for each category displayed on the page. If you click on a different category you will see a different number of N's.

 

This did not use to happen, it just started recently.

 

Any ideas?

1. Download a copy of your index.php file to serve as a backup.
   
2. Open a COPY of index.php in a text editor, if you haven't performed the newest updates to OSC.
   *the online editor provided in Admin caused this
   
3. Check this post http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=178632&hl= and follow the instructions on the last post down.
   
4. Save your file and post back using an FTP program, or cpanel where available, or Dreamweaver. The main point point here is to edit the files using something other than OSC Admin.
