Session Directory

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Can anyone help me with this error I am getting on top of my webpages.

Warning: The sessions directory does not exist: /tmp. Sessions will not work until this directory is created

I have looked in my configure.php file and on the bottom line it states "mysql", where do I need to make the change and what do i write.

Thanks Guys :D

Create a sessions directory within your webspace, inside catalog is fine. You can name it anything you like.

Once you have it go to admin -> Configuration -> Sessions and set the sessions directory to point to this newly created directory. Remember that the path is the FS path, ie: home/www/bla/blah/http/catalog or something like that.

It won't be used for the session data since you've got sessions set to mysql (which is best) but the system looks for that directory anyway and your server's system is denying you access to /tmp which is above your webspace.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
