nantucketer Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I have my SSL checkout pages working fine in IE for Windows, Safari and Firefox, but in IE for MAC, as soon as I click on 'Checkout' I get Security Failure. Data Decryption Error. Any Clues IE for MAC 5.2 SSL Version 3 It seems to be a problem with Apache and Microsoft - anyone have a workaround?

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
Jan Zonjee Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 It seems to be a problem with Apache and Microsoft - anyone have a workaround? Yes, use another browser. It seems to be a very common problem if you google for it. For example: this blog notes: Came across an interesting problem today. Users of Macintosh Internest Explorer were receiving a "Security Failure: Data decryption error" alert box when trying to view a SSL encrypted Web site. After doing a quick search on Google, I found that there is a bug in how MAC IE implements SSLv3. This error of course does not ocurr on Firefox or Safari. Since support of Mac IE was stopped two years ago users of that browser are out of luck.
