sh1977
Hello I've installed the below contrib http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ll/search,flash The contrib works fine but one little problem, you can't click on it to follow the link. Can be seen on http://www.up2date.net.au at the bottom, if it does load first time refresh. Just wondering is you can do this with flash. If so how :). jefs.42
actually, i got this: https://secure1.wn.com.au/signup/default.as...resellerid=3134 when i clicked on it. I do know that many newer browsers don't allow flash to open new windows. the browsers consider them 'popups' even though you meant to click on it. try searching it on any search engine and/or macromedia. i know i've run into the same thing on other sites i've done so i'm sure it's not a oscommerce or contrib issue it's a browser<->flash popup thing. if it makes ya feel better ;) works fine in in IE5.2 on Mac (Firefox on Mac gave me the above link). i'll look into more when i get a chance and maybe add to the contrib if there's a fix. and let me know what you find too. jefs.42
yep, found it..(you piqued my interest ;) ) check http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledg...cfm?id=tn_19482 um, in the flash movie itself..does the link have a target? may not be exactly what you'd like, but opening the link in the same window might avoid the (not really) popup blocking. update: worked in K-Meleon on XP also. although, according to the above link it's mostly the newer Internet Explorers. might be the only way to get it perfect would be doing a javascript browser check, and displaying the flash for browsers that will allow it, and just using a random gif/link (ok old school banners i know) for those that don't. sh1977
Thanks for you replys Jefs.42 very much appreciated. I think i'll just leave it as is then if it's mainly a browser issue. If people really want to click or go to the link they will read the flash and follow it from there :). Thanks again Jefs. Scott
