Installation on a Debian Server

:) Hi

I think I have all the prerequisites. I have php 5 and not 4.

I have loaded phpmyadmin but it does not run

I have access the mysql and have set a root password

What commands do I need to get my database going?

What additional lines do I need to add to httpd.con?

Regards

Chris

You should enable all the modules which deal with php and anything else you feel you will need. (you will find these in the add module/load module sections of your conf file)

Read up on how to "start up" your apache/php/mysql there are plenty of manual out there on this. Maybe hit up one of the linux forums such as Justlinux.com or Linuxquestions.com.

Work at getting your server functioning properly before tinkering with osCommerce. Not that it is hard or anything but the more you understand your server and basic functioning of it the better off you will be.

It would help you as well to study up on some php and html in order to understand the script used so you can work with them easier. I haven't made the switch to oscommerce yet because I am not comfortable with the scripts and how they work right now.
