christoria
Hello, I'm located at www.huggablefleece.com, and I'm going about final setups when I look at my sites front page and see all the catagories are joy-bay catagories. How on earth could this have happened?? Please help! Thank you, christoria Also, all of my catagories are correct in the admin. They are untouched. Fixed it! I reset the catagories. Phew... These forums are great. Look how fast that problem was solved. By the way, how does anyone think that may have happened? Thanks again, christoria Well, it happened again - within two minutes. I reset it again, but who knows how long until it happens again. Does someone know how to stop this? It is only affecting my Catagories on the left side. My admin is untouched for now, as is everything else. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, christoria
Guest
Set "use cache" to false in admin, this happens when on a shared server
AlanR
Same server/same IP www.huggablefleece.com (38.113.1.102) joy-bay.com (38.113.1.102) Go into admin -> Configuration -> Use Cache and set it to false In http://www.huggablefleece.com/includes/configure.php set the last line like so: // define our database connection define('DB_SERVER', ''); // eg, localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', ''); define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', ''); define('DB_DATABASE', 'osCommerce'); define('USE_PCONNECT', 'false'); // use persistent connections? define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql'); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql' Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
rabbitseffort
Joy-bay doesn't even know how to or doesn't care to resize their images, so it seems to me dial up customers will not be shopping there, seems people forget the many thousands of people that are still on dial up when they create a site. 3 megs on a thumbnail is ridiculous! good luck with your site and if they are image stealers, good luck getting them to stop "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer. --Ken Kesey"

I noticed that too but they're not the ones asking questions. I've got 3 Mbps dsl and when I see the images build like that I don't even have to check the sizes to know what's going on. christoria
Thank you so much! That worked - the "use cache" thing. I don't know how joy-bay works. I just noticed their catagories in my spot. AlanR, how did you discover the servers were the same? That is good information. Thanks again, christoria
AlanR
AlanR, how did you discover the servers were the same? That is good information. traceroute You could use cache if you created a folder within your own web space and changed the cache directory in your admin section (under cache). As default it uses space common to other sites above your webspace which is how the data co-mingles with the other site. You don't have that many items so I doubt that cache would make much difference to you. christoria
Of course... The things I forget because I don't use them so much. Thank you for that explanation. I'll likely not be using cache. Thanks again, christoria
