I think I usually hear more about Ultimate SEO. That's just from my short experience w/ osc. Sorry I can't help more than that.

Both are working very well....and the choice would be more about which url style you think looks best.....

 

But besides that there are some points which might make Ultimate Seo Url's an easier choice:

 

-They are very easily installed

 

- Has an on and off switch in your admin panel

 

- They do not change your shop in any sigificant mather.

 

- You can have duplicate names

 

The Search Engine Friendly Urls are very nice too, but has some limitations:

 

- The original oscommerce Search Engine Safe Urls has to be set to true , this does not work on all servers/hosting

 

- Force Cookies has to be set to true, those who have set their browser to not allowing cookies can not buy from your shop aswell as that Force Cookies does not work as well with shops using shared ssl.

 

- This contribution merges the index.php and the product_info.php files , ie. after install frontpage, cats, sub cats and products are all called from index.php and the product_info.php files is not used at all. Mentioned because this does affect how you have to modify files when you want to add other contributions later on.

 

- You can not have duplicate name, ie. none of your products, cat or sub-cats can have the same name.
