Header Tag Controller - partly working

discography

Recommended Posts

Hello

I have the current HTC contribe install on my live shop. For the index page it is working perfectly.

For the products_info page, despite having the settings set to fill from the product description, it is not working, infact none of the sub pages are working.

Strangely enough on my closed test server it works. I have resorted to copied each file from the test server to live server and manually checking each line and ensureing that the modifications to each page (such as the title tag and applications top change) have been made.

--

Note, I am not using the admin yet (files are not uploaded). First the autofill needs to work.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Chris

The product page title and meta tags are loaded from the database. Since you have not set up your admin section, the database isn't setup correctly yet. Once you finish installing it and running fill tags, you should be all set.

Hi Jack_mcs

I will try this. Thanks for the reply. For the test server version I had not yet setup the admin section.

As I have different paths, I hope that this will not affect the performance (admin folder has a different name).

I will post back here to report on the success / failure.

Cheers

Chris

The HTC is working after installation of the admin section.

A slight hiccup which I am looking into in the product_info pge is that onl?y the product name is being shown in the page title, page description and key words. The product description is not displayed Page description...

I am not sure if there is an error in my install or if there is a setting that needs to be adjusted. If there are any tips, ideas, let me know.

Thanks

Christopher

Header Tags doesn't affect the product description text so if that is not being shown, there is some problem on that page.

I think I expressed my query poorly.

For the product_info page, I was expecting each product description (in the catalogue) to be passed onto the header tags and automatically be displayed as the Meta Page Description. This is not the case so I am looking into whether I have an error. Any tips or comments are welcome.

Cheers

The description displayed by the meta tag is what's in the header tags description field in admin->catalog. When fill tags is ran, it loads the description with the products name, not the description. If it doesn't contain what you want, you will need to edit those items and change it.
