PLEASE HELP QUICKLY

Alright, not sure what I did here, but I am getting this error when I try to view my site, please help!

 

Warning: mysql_connect(): Lost connection to MySQL server during query in /home/mindzeye/public_html/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

Looks like you are either trying to connect to a database that doesnt exist, or is not working properly, check your database is still there... and check your database name/user/password are set correctly

I figured it out, for an unknown reason to me, about 200 lines of code disappeared from a file, so I tried to correct it my putting my backup of that file in place but that wouldnt' work until I deleted the file completely from the server, then put the backup file in. Go figure, I only sucked real bad for maybe 1 hour. Thanks for the reply, your suggestion is close to what the problem was.
