i have read through the posts, searched on google for help, and here i am 4 hours later still without a clue on how to implement .htaccess to secure the admin folder. i don't really understand php and need the simplest, most basic instruction on how to secure the admin directory with .htaccess currently, anybody can gain access to the whole ball of wax, and that's just unacceptable.

is it possible for somebody--anybody to just copy & paste the entire .htaccess file here so i can replace mine with something that will work? i just don't get it at all. i apologize for my inexperience and inability to comprehend what might seem like simple instructions to most of you. please, can somebody "dumb it down" for me? can i pay somebody?
