H4eafy
On my site www.mikestackleshop.com, I go into the 'Whos Online' think it displays one IP address that is looking at products but mainly product reviews. It sometimes has about 30-40 pages up and running sometimes. As i type this it has about 40 pages going. Example /product_reviews.php?cPath=9_1329&products_id=2973 or /product_info.php?products_id=9826 On my other site www.edinburghoutdoorvillage.com, it has something similar. accept the ip address is looking at pages with this in it /product_reviews_write.php? Earlier today it had about 10 of these pages open for different products. To access these pages you need to be a member of the site. They are on these pages almost every day. Why would anyone be looking at this without writing reviews? Why dont I ever see them on any other pages than review pages for writing reviews? Is this one of the google spiders or anything like that? I did a whois search on the IP address for the site: 64.124.85.74 Blacklist Status: Clear Cached Whois: Cached today Whois History: 131 records stored Oldest: 2005-01-30 Newest: 2005-11-07 Record Type: IP Address IP Location: United States - California - Campbell - Become Inc Reverse IP: No websites hosted using this IP address Reverse DNS: 64.124.85.74.become.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Abovenet Communications, Inc ABOVENET (NET-64-124-0-0-1) 64.124.0.0 - 64.125.255.255 Become Inc. Any ideas? mikestackleshop - Loads of Fishing Gear

H4eafy
Wont this be screwing up the viewer stats on my site? How does it get into the areas where you need to have signed up? That url dosent work mikestackleshop - Loads of Fishing Gear
kgt
It's not actually "getting in." There are links on all the product pages to write a new review. The product review page then checks whether or not the user is logged in. If not, then they are redirected to the login page. The spider is going to the product review page, but never "sees" it because it is immediately directed away. It of course is going to affect your viewer stats. I don't know what you mean by "screw up," but Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines need to do this to be able to properly index your site. More accurate web logs may be kept by using Webalizer, which your host may offer. ::shrug:: the URL works fine for me. H4eafy
Cheers for the reply and the info kjt By the way. In configuration - sessions - prevent spider sessions, is it better to have this set to false for better search engine results. mikestackleshop - Loads of Fishing Gear
