how to migrate from localhost to the internet

I am built my site locally on my harddisk and is ready to migrate the whole site to the new internet webhosting. Please teach me how to do it safely.

Additional question: I noticed my new webhosting space has the following structure, what should be the root directory....

----cp

----images

----modlogan

----webalizer
