Guest Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 I have stumbled and bumbled through setting up the site. I am into all kinds of PC nonsense and this is certainly the vaguest and most challenging/ non-intuitive bunch of bull cookies that i have ever come into contact with. Its to the point now where all i want to do is finish up so i can get to the business side of things but i cannot find any info on how to simply get the checkout and payment end working. i don't know where to start and i don't know who to ask. i'm not scared i just don't know what to do. I have the site framed in but am about to start losing money if i cant figure this thing out. should i maybe be using on of the other shopping carts scripts instead? ...at least you have a manual. i am as lost as last years easter egg. this freakin os business is holding me down. i thought it would be the way to go, due to popularity, but all i am doing is speniding hours each days trying to figure out how to get features to work. where do i go? who do i ask? why can't i just get this thing online. i am so weary of searching for some glimmer of support ar advice on how to simply get the checkout modules working. a little help would rule.
Guest Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 OK, do you have a Paypal account? How about a merchant account for credit cards? Do you have a gateway for your merchant account? Are you interested in accepting personal checks and/or money orders?
Guest Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 I'm heading to the bank for a merchant account this week. I haven't decided or don't know which module to use. whichever is easiest and maintains a professional appearance. didn't particularly want to use pay pal. wanted something more integrated into the site's design. but am open for any and suggestions. especially those suggestions which help me get going! also don't intend on taking anything but credit/check cards for payment.
Guest Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Ok. That's fine but you may still lose business to those who fear leaving cc info "out there". I do less check business every year, so it won't be too much depending on your client base. I'd suggest a gateway at Authorize.net. They've always been good for me. There are plenty of others, though. Thunder storm here. I may be cut off soon. Then install a Contribution called Authorize.net Consolidated in your store.
