Vger, I hope you're around - I installed the PayPal

I installed all of this because of the Credit Class/Discount Coupon contribution. I was told that I should install the PayPal IPN and the patch afterward.

I've tested with two different orders.

First order, I used a discount coupon of $3.00 and the coupon was applied to the order within the website. But, when I arrived at PayPal to pay for it....no $3.00 discount in sight.

Same thing on my second test, this time using a Welcome Gift Voucher of $3.00.

Redeemed it, applied it to my order; worked just fine. When I get to PayPal to pay for it...no $3.00 discount at all.

What could be wrong?

For what it's worth, I uninstalled the PayPal IPN mod and reverted back to the original PayPal mod that comes pre-installed in OSC and tested these orders again.

THAT PayPal mod is doing what it should. It is subtracting the discount coupons and the voucher balances from the purchases when I arrive at PayPal to pay for them.

I don't know why the PayPal IPN mod won't do it.

Can't anyone up here help me with this?

For crying out loud, to look at the Contributions page...it's the most heavily downloaded contrib in sight.

Surely, someone knows what's wrong here.

I have successfully installed the Credit Class/Gift Voucher 5.10 contrib. I was told to take that one as the newer ones are buggy as all get out.

Had some moments, wouldn't do this, wouldn't do that. But, figured it out.

Then I installed the OSC PayPal IPN 1.0 mod. Installed just fine. Then I was told to install a 'patch' of sorts called PayPal IPN....which was specifically written for those using the Credit Class/Gift Voucher contrib.

Did that. I suppose it's okay. I'm not getting any warning errors on the screen in any part of my site...not even when I enter PayPal to pay.

But, there is no discount applied whatsoever when I end up in PayPal to pay for the item. Tested it with both Welcome Gift Voucher and a Discount Coupon I created.

Those two features work just fine within the website. If I put a $10 item in my shopping cart and proceed to Checkout....I can redeem my voucher OR my coupon just fine and the screen accurately displays how the total purchase has been changed.

Item: $10

Shipping: $3

Minus Voucher or Coupon: $3

Total: $10

But, when I take it further and end up in the PayPal screen to pay....it reads simply

Item: $10

Shipping: $3

Total: $13

No discount, no credit, nothing. Like it never happened.

The reason I wanted to install the PayPal IPN 1.0 mod is because of the concern that the customer's voucher balance may not be subtracted if I don't. They'll pay...and come back to a screen where their shopping cart still shows a $3 voucher balance, despite the fact that they already 'spent it' in their previous purchase.

This WORKS with the pre-installed paypal.php mod that comes with the install of OSC 2.2 Not sure if it's eliminating the voucher balance, though, as I can't pay myself within PayPal. Waiting patiently on a friend to test this for me.

But, the totals on the screen within PayPal, when actually making the payment, DO reflect the subtraction of the discount coupon or the voucher balance being applied. The PayPal IPN 1.0 does not.

What do I do?

I wanna just forget the PayPal IPN 1.0 and use the plain old paypal.php module I've been using for a year on my other site ( I don't have the CCGV contrib installed on that one) but....is there a 'fix' of sorts for the existing PayPal module that comes with OSC that I could apply so a buyer's Voucher Balance is subtracted after their payment is completed? The existing PayPal module within OSC works just fine with payments like...check, money order or whatever. Voucher balances just disappear. And the PayPal screens (using the old paypal.php mod) reflect the credits, too. But, what about PayPal IPN 1.0? What's the fussy little monkey with this one???

You probably didn't get a response because you addressed the post to Vger. You also keep posting to your own post which makes it appear that it has been handled. In the future, if you have a problem with a contribution you should post the question in the support thread for that contribution since you are likely to get a quicker answer that way.

As for your problem, try changing the Transaction type from per item to aggregate, or aggregate to per item (opposite of what you now have).
