limit the number of products that can be purchased

Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to limit the quantity a customer can purchase of a specific item? For example if I sold tootsie rolls, my customers would only be able to buy two each.

 

I searched the forums but cant find anything. Thanks!

i'm no programer, but thinking .. can't you just limit the entering number into shopping cart field .. where entering number of products .. and before that check out if these products are already in shopping cart?
