Customize searchbox

Hi all,

 

im a complete newbie with oscommerce and my php knowledge is novice.

 

i wish to be able to cusomize the search box.

 

for the moment i dont want an advanced search. cant find if theres somewhere to diable this in the admin.

 

also i want the text to the left of the search box.

 

once ive done that i want to replace the quick find heading and the bg image and just have a background colour.

 

how do i do that?
