I need help in making adjustments to my shopping cart. How does one add family/friends discount codes to the cart for immmediate updates on pricing? I need a way of offering discount codes to those customers that have access to these codes they need to import when checking out of my shop. I am very very new to osscommerce. If the answers to these questions are easy to obtain by reading a manual or somewhere online please just point me to that direction if possible.

I suggest you trying adding in the Credit Class and Gift Voucher contribution found here:

Admittedly, it is one of the more complex contributions to add, but it's also one of the best and most flexible. It will allow you to either give your friends and family special discount codes, or just e-mail them direct credits if you choose to.
