Davewalters Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 http://www.ukbcoins.co.uk Been up and running for a while and a steady stream of orders has more than covered my time but had no orders in over a fortnight - is it still working correctly? It seems to when I test it but could you guys have a look. Other than that I'm thinking of adding a wishlist and removing the notification system. Please let me know how to better whats apready running. Thanks.

You have a google rank of '1' - try moving your store to the root instead of having it bounce. You can then remove "catalogue" and I would change "top" to "home" For SEO you should add a contribution that gives each page a unique title putting the product name in the page title. Remove the create an account paragraph - no one needs to create an account until they get to shopping cart so take it off the first page. You have the returning customer login in your left column and that's all you need on the first page I would remove the (numbers) from the categories to improve the look a titch I would also put the images full size in their description page and dispense with the click to enlarge (just another unnecessary click). Hope some of this helps.
mark27uk3 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Hi Dave, Just a few things that I think you need to look at: 1. You dont have SSL so noway would I shop with you. 1.1 You definately need to install the header tags controller contrib. 2. I have no idea whether you have a merchant account, paypal, nochex for payment. 3. Why is you information box above the whats new and search box, how could I find anything if the search box is not in plains sight. 4. Get some contact info in the header, research has proven that contact info ie phone number, address etc build customer confidence. 5. Get rid of the requests in the footer, nobody cares lol 6. Just like Ruth mentioned get the store moved to the root folder. 7. Why does your 'conditions of use' lead to privacy.php and 'links' lead to conditions.php???? 8. From the few products I clicked I saw no product descriptions at all. 9. Change your config files so your site is www.ukbcoinds.co.uk and not just http://ukbcoins.co.uk 10. On a personal note I think that the would grain type background is horrible. 11. Add a checkout link to the shopping cart box and maybe even shipping info. 12. If you only have 1 review then consider removing the infobox until you have a decent few reviews worth showing. Oh and get rid of that daft advertisment infobox! Please dont take these as criticisms merely just suggestions to help you acheive a successful and profitable store. Mark Lifes a bitch, then you marry one, then you die!
