phpmyvisits

I found a contribution that links you to the phpmyvisits website and I was wondering if anyone here using it could answer two questions for me.

1. when I move the file to my server am I suppose to put it in the catalog file or right before or does it matter?

 

2. during the installation it ask for a database name, am I suppose to use the database my store uses or give it its own data base? Last thing I want to do is accidently destroy the database.
