Arleen Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I'm in the process of entering new products into the Admin section, where it asks for product weight. I'm not understanding what we enter for weight in this section - pounds, ounces, kilograms, etc....? I'm using 2.2ms2. Does anyone know what weight is used in this section? Please help. Thank you.

It's actually any weight you like but it's probably easier to work in metric (kilos). If your product weight 1.00 kilos just enter 1, if it weighs 100 grammes then enter .10

You can choose every weight unit you like as long as you use the same weight units with your shipping tables. So let's say if your packages range from 500 grams to 10 kilograms you could choose to set the weight with your products like: 0.1 (= 100 grams) 0.5 (= 500 grams) 1.0 (= 1 kilogram) 2.6 (= 2 kilograms and 600 grams) etc. and your shipping table would be something like: 0.1:5,0.5:6,1.0:10,2.0:17.50,5.0:25.00 which says that packages from: 0 - 100 grams costs 5 (euro, dollar or whatever currency) 100 - 500 grams costs 6 500 gram - 1 kilogram costs 10 1 kilogram - 2 kilogram costs 17.50 2 kilogram - 5 kilogram costs 25 Best is to look what weight unit your shipping provider calculates in so it is easier for you to fill in the proper values.
