w.cheung Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 hi, i'm new to this software and i've read most of the basic and installation help doc. i don't have a server as yet but i would like to install this on my home pc, and would like to get to grips with the whole package before i invest in a server. so, i read it possible to install on a local pc, please tell he how. i've downloaded the package, but can't seem to view any of the doc's. please advice. w.cheung
GraphicsGuy Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 You need to have Apache Web Server, PHP and mySQL running on your PC in order to run an installation of osCommerce on it. EasyPHP (google it) is one of several packages that install all three at once. You can also get more information about the process by doing a search on these forums for EasyPHP. Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.
