Step 7 Different Error

I've searched the forums for a while now, and it seems no one else has got this type of error.

Everything installs well until I get to step 7.

 

I input the server settings on step 6 exactly the same as step 2 but when I press next the following shows:

 

"A test connection made to the database was NOT successful.

 

The error message returned is:

 

Table 'plaincart.configuration' doesn't exist

 

Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings.

 

If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company."

 

If the configuration on my database isn't showing up would this mean the database import of step 2 isn't actually working? Help Please =[
