elzmaddy Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Hello, I'm sure this question is asked from time to time, but I could not find information by the search. I turned on 'use search-engine safe urls' in the admin panel, and I realize that many people have reported problems with it, but I have not seen a problem yet. However, I do not see meaningful information in the urls.. My URLs are formed like this: "/product_info.php/products_id/165" instead of showing the product name. How do I get the correct information displayed? And if I find out that the Search Engine Safe URL option does not work, would I have success with the "Seach Engine Friendly URL" contribution?
julianpuje Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 SEF url's in admin doesn't work so don't use it. Try the SEF url's contribution you mention or the Ultimate URL's contribution. I use the latter and it works fine on my site HERE if you want to take a look. HTH Julian A little knowledge is dangerous, I SHOULD KNOW. If Life Begins At 40, What ends????
elzmaddy Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 Thanks for the info. I noticed you have a problem with your site, the scrolling message at the top says: "Only 54 Days To Christmas"
elzmaddy Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 Ultimate SEO works great. Only one little thing - I cannot get dots in my product title. I have software product names like "SomeProduct Version 7.0.1.3" and I'd like to have it display like that.
