PropioWeb Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Well Guys, It's been a long time since my first attempt to build an osC site and that very first site was recently submitted back to me to be redesigned. The owner was tiredof the original layout which was already going into it's second year, so, yes it was due. http://www.jehovanisi.com/ Take a look and let me know what you think. Tariq Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 welpers.. I cant read a word of what it IS but it looks nice :> the box colors are pleasing and simple setup makes it easy to navigate, though as I said I have no idea what Im navigating TO lol Though the white background was a little bright for the other colors used. Maybe a very pale yellow? Something to break that white up because it stands out VERY starkly against the black and green behind. Not sure exactly on that one ;/ may have to play a little. One thing that stood out to me is the rounded corners of the infoboxes isnt always rounded. On the Entra Aqui and Programa de Afiliados boxes the right is squared, and its very distracting to me because the flow is interrupted by that. Without knowing exacly what I was doing thats really all I could find lol Sorry! One of these days, I will actually understand what I just changed... But reading the Manual DEFINATELY helps...
Mediajuggle Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 the one thing I would say is that you need to provide soundclips for cds as people are more inclined to make a purchase if they can hear what they're buying My Contribution Music Download Store Template http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4275

Without knowing exacly what I was doing thats really all I could find lol Sorry! Thanks Tariq, I forgot to mention that it's in spanish, sorry. LOL The background is actually a dark brown, but I know what you mean about the contrast, the client likes it like that so I left it like that. The rounded corners, or lack there of on the infoboxes, is also something I don't like but I tried to fix it and haven't been able to. I'm using one of the early version of BTS and I can't figure out how to get the rounded corners on both sides of those two boxes. Both of those boxes where added by me and maybe that is the reason. I tried using one of the original boxes to put these together but I still can't get both sides to be round. I also can't figure out where the right hand corner on the product of the month box is coming from. If you notice there is a left hand corner on the right hand side. See image if somebody can help me out I would appreciate it. @ Mediajuggle I know about the song samples. They have somebody overthere that handles the adding of products and stuff and I showed him how to add music files and he hasn't done it. Not my job to do it so I don't stress it. If anyone here knows of an easy way to rip, cut and add song samples I'm all ears. Thanks guys, anyone else? Hell, if you find out let me know as well... :D I'm using OsPlayer http://www.counteractdesign.com/temp.html to handle the soundclips on my site. The benefit is that it intergrates with OsCommerce and you can upload songs and stuff in the admin (though i prefer to ftp because it's faster). This might be of help to you as well. PS: I do like what you've done with the site! My Contribution Music Download Store Template http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4275

It was a bit of work to put it together but worth it in the end. See image if somebody can help me out I would appreciate it. the offending piece of code can be found in boxes.php line 160 'text' => tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'infobox/corner_right_left.gif'))); change to 'text' => tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'infobox/corner_right.gif'))); good luck Peter
PropioWeb Posted November 22, 2005 Author Posted November 22, 2005 Hi Woodie, Thanks for your help, that fixed it. Now all I need is a little help with getting the login and affiliate boxes to have the rounded corner on the right and all the boxes will be uniform. Thanks again man.
