Conditional statements on "Quantities"

This may end up being one of those questions where the answer should be "obvious", but here goes:

If I have a product with quantity breaks in pricing such as:

minimum of 25 - 49 = $1.78 ea.

50 - 99 = $1.60 ea.

100 - 249 = $1.36 ea.

250 - 499 = $1.10 ea.

etc.

I want the software to only allow orders in those designated quantities. For instance, if a user tried to order the drop-down option of 50 - 99, but tried to type in only 23 in the quantity box, I would want an error message of some kind, to prevent getting a lower quantity at the higher quantity price.

I have an entite site to build, based on this premise.

Can anyone offer advice or has anyone else used OSCommerce in this way?

Thanks in advance!

Try this Contribution: Quantity Price Breaks Per Product

Posted

The Quantity Price Breaks Per Product contribution will give you the pricing tiers and can assign "quantity blocks" so that a customer can only order in multiples (i.e 6,12,18 ...) but, afaik, it doesn't have built in minimum order quantities other than blocks. But the Minimum Order Quantity Per Product contribution does exactly that.

Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database.

Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.

Thanks for the suggestions. THese might work, but the four quanity limit of "Quantity Price Breaks Per Product" might do me in. Most of my products have over 6 or 7 price breaks. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

One of the updates to that contribution extended it to a maximum of 8 price breaks.

Thanks GraphicsGuy! I did see that, and installed the contribution! Have it up and running and it's working great!
