All products gone, what would cause this?

I am working on setting up an online store for a friend, he just called and said that after updating a products weight, all of the store's products vanished. I checked and there are now 0 products and categories. I looked at the table labeled products and it contains no information.

 

Is there a way to recover all of the products, categories, prices, descriptions that we had? If not, does anyone know what the hell happened?

Some Contributions can do wacky things. Maybe something you installed did it. Are there any other tables screwed up? That may give a clue. Talk to the host about getting a recent backup of the database. Sometimes they will just restore the whole thing, so take a dump of the one you have now, just for safkeeping and future troubleshooting reference. Once you have everything back nice, get your own backup then try to replicate the error that caused it and see how it happened.
