twosiste Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 The oscommerse software is on the site. It was put there by the host. When I try to go to the my-host I do not get the same page as is shown in some of the answeres here. I have tried the faq and I guess I am just dense. There has to be an easy way to do this. I have set up the cat. with two samples of product. But how do I get it to the site? Have only set up index page. Do I have to link to another page from there or what. I am about to give up and try another program. If I can find one that works with frontpage so much the better. Thanks Ray
♥Vger Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I'm afraid you'll have to give us more of a clue than that. What do you mean by 'It was put there by the host' - did they actually install it for you? You've mentioned that you've added a few products, so presumably you have access to the admin panel for osCommerce. Any products you have added should then appear on your homepage (index.php). It might be better if you just post a link and then we'll know what's going on. Vger

Vger I am sorry, not knowing about this makes it hard for me to be able to explain. the site is twosistersshirts.com it is hosted by startlogic I down loaded oscommerce and it said it was on the server. When I try to go to the second step that is in the faq I do not get the same screan as it shows that I should . When I called tech support I was told I would have to get it from the oscommmerce site. Some help from the host provider huh. There was another shopping cart program provided by startlogic but it said should have some pearl experiance. Which I don't. Thanks for your reply Rayt
♥Vger Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Well, I've taken a look at your site, and tried all of the obvious addresses (catalog. oscommerce, store, shop, install, or just in the root of your domain) and I can't find osCommerce at all. Did you upload osCommerce to your domain, or did your host install it for you? Vger

twosiste Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 I followed the instructions to install osc using a ftp program. when I did and then went to the twosistersshirts.com/catalog/install I got this error Warning: main(includes/application_top.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/twosiste/public_html/catalog/index.php on line 13 Warning: main(includes/application_top.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/twosiste/public_html/catalog/index.php on line 13 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/application_top.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/twosiste/public_html/catalog/index.php on line 13
♥Vger Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Okay it looks like the osCommerce site was partly installed, but file and/or folder permisisons are wrong in the catalog, and it looks as though the admin/includes/configure.php file hasn't had any data written to it at all. If you paid your hosts to install it for you then get them to do it again - properly. Vger
twosiste Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 i have the link on the home page , Now how do I change the catalog? I never did go through the setup the way it is in the instructions. But it is there so hey.
♥Vger Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Well, it's a little difficult for people to see what's on your site and what's not - as it is now all password protected. Vger
