WEB11
Hi, I am new to OSC and was wondering what is the easiest way to customize an order, I want to sell custom computers. I've been looking at all 3 custom PC builders but none of them seem to be fully functional, except PC Pro Creator but its not compatible with firefox. So my question is, is there any other contribution that would allow me to add custom fields to an oder? It doesn't really need to link to items on the database as long as I get a report with the options chosen by the costumer and the final price displays correctly. Thanks in advance for any ideas! nana
i just addes a contribution that allows up to 5 additional questions to the order it has a lot of flexibility in the admin section and there is a demo although irt does not relate to any product. you can probably increase the number with a little work support forum and link to demo
WEB11
That is a great mod to get more info from your customers but I think it wouldn't help on my case because it doesnt change the price depending on answer and its not product specific, meaning that all the questions and answers will be the same for all products. Any other suggestions?
niknakgroup
Why not add your customisations as product options/attributes? This functionality is already built in to a stock osc download, and whilst is slightly heavier on the setup admin side, is definitely the most simple, and you can put as many choices and selectors as you like, each with its own price implication. Take a look at www.niknakgroup.com to see how I have used attributes to offer different gemstones on jewellery items using the attributes - the same theory can apply to your site, just scale it to your requirements. Please note - if I have suggested a contrib above, it doesnt mean it will work! Most of the contribs are not ones I've used, but may be useful for your particular problem.... Have you tried a refined search? Chances are your problem has already been dealt with elsewhere on the forums..... if (stumped == true) { return(square_one($start_over) } else { $random_query = tep_fetch_answer($forum_query) }
WEB11
OMG yeah I just found out that it is already built in, duh  Thanks for the input. OSC Rocks!
