Installing language (Norwegian)

I dont know how big a problem this is, and I should tell you right off that my PHP knowledge is equal to zilch. Although, I do have fairly good general computer understanding.

I installed a norwegian module I found on the oscommerce site, and it installs an admin directory and a catalog directory. It does not install a norwegian.php file under the languages root dir (includes\languages\) It just adds the directory called "norwegian" and under it, the admin and catalog dirs.

Now, the catalog (webshop) is Norwgian, and everything is working fine. But I cannot use the Norwegian administration for some reason. This is not necessarily a problem either, as I don't mind English at all. But when I am under the web-based configuration page and choose TOOLS and DEFINE LANGAUGES, and choose Norwegian - it tells me it is unable to write to the norwegian.php file suppsedly expected to be under includes\languages

which .. it is not. - So my question is - is this important? do I need to install a different languagepack, or what?

Your folders (all of them) need to have permissions of at least 755, and for some 777.

they were at 755, but I set them all to 777 to be sure. Still, my problem isn't the premissions even though that is what the error message is telling me. My problem is that there is no file called norwegian.php in the root langauge directory. - There is german and english which I suppose are there by default, installed by my ISP - but as I need Norwegian I installed a pack I found under contributions on the oscommerce site.

This pack, however, had no file called "norwegian.php" placed in the root langauge directory. Only two directories called admin and catalog. So I created a directory called norwegian, and copied these two directories over.

But like I said, I am not experienced with either php or oscommerce, so for all I know I do not need this file in the root language file. But it seemed to me as I did, since only the online webshop is in Norwegian, and not the administration. This is a minor loss to me, though, if it causes no further problems for the setup. I can live with the configuration being English.

Thanks
