janice171 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Hi, well my first osc site is almost finished. i'm not entirely happy with its overall look but i'm happy enough to call it 'done' for now. for some reason the header image isn't centered in IE and the header menu isn't flush to the right in IE either(it's fine in FireFox) so if anyone can offer a solution to this i'd be very grateful....i just can't figure it out!! any comments, critiques and suggestions are welcome. Here's the link. thanks for looking. janice
janice171 Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 Hi, just been making a purchase and paypal gives me this message: "Although this page is encrypted the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party. Are you sure you want to continue sending this information?" anyone got any ideas??? hell, i thought everything was working ok!
rommany Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Hi janice I looked around your site and it seems ok, it has no wow factor but its clean and simple. You will need to add content to shipping ect, but im sure you know that. If i was you i would install a SSL as without one you will see very little sales. Im on 2.3Mbps and it loads still a tad slow. This has been said loads of times, Why would you need my sex and DOB in account details?, if its not needed why ask, some will if this a little nosey : ) and leave : ( Anyway overall its starting to look nice, just a bit of fine tuning.. Good luck
janice171 Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 thanks for your comments. could you tell me how i would take out dob etc from the create_account?? thanks
tmgrood Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 thanks for your comments.could you tell me how i would take out dob etc from the create_account?? thanks Hello, DOB and most other sign up info can be removed from your admin/configuration/customer details section. I'm a victim of circumstance
janice171 Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 thanks tmgrood...didn't realise those options were in the admin section. i've now sorted out the 'unencrypted connection' error too.(if anyone else is having this problem i'd be happy to share my findings) there were just a few errors in my config. files. so now everything is working....just need to sort out the download time!!! anyone had any success with the thumbnail contributions??
