ukwazoo
I just want to password protect the admin page, so no one else can mess with it. How can I do this?
Jack_mcs
Check your hosts control panel for an option to pasword protect it. Or, there are sites around that will allow you to do it yourself. Search for pasword protection with htaccess. ♥Vger
First thing to do is to rename the 'admin' folder to something unique (if hackers can't find it they can't try to hack it). Then in admin/includes/configure.php change any reference in pathways to /admin/ to /newname/ (there will be one or two depending on how the site was installed). Then go to your Web Hosting Control Panel and use their Password or Directory Protect function to password protect the renamed 'admin' folder.
