Error on new installation

I have uploaded a new install and when I get to the last section ie. displays catalog or admin, I can choose the shop and all is okay, default display, products and functions all okay. However, when I select admin I get the following error message,

 

Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in /home/goldenwa/public_html/admin/includes/classes/upload.php on line 31

 

 

Any suggestions what is the problem?
