paulgosden Posted October 17, 2005 Share Posted October 17, 2005 Hi there, my first oscommerce web site is about to go live and I hoped some of you might check it out for me, I have had feedback from friends etc, but none so harsh as the people who do it for a living! http://www.theisight.com I am very new to all this, so any feed back appreciated, also any comments on security etc, please ignore the shipping notice and privacy as they have yet to be done, and also the 'test delete' product, spent to much money testing on paypal!!!! just a couple of questions 1) I have just enabled SSL and now it shows osCsid in the URL when it did not used to , is this going to be a problem with search englines etc? If so how do i get rid of it. as I have read MANY threads here reguarding this. 2) Orders are sometimes not showing in database with paypal , i have installed the held orders contrib so i can see the orders, but its not excatly a proper 'fix'. It happens when someones goes to the site browses it, and then adds products to the shopping cart, then goes to checkout and then signs into the site and then goes to paypal. I can reproduce it everytime now. Paypal still gets the money, but no order. I have installed the latest of all the contribs that i need. - Also emails that are sent as order confirmations, have no order ID at the end. - it is not because i do not reutrn to the site. I promise!!!!! 3) When logging into the website and then adding products to cart seems a bit better, but have only had 1 working occurence when the paypal IPN actually updated the status to Processing (Where the default is pending). I was very exciting by this until i did the same thing again, and it just stayed at pending. Any ideas what might be going on. 4) SSL not working on admin, i goto the theisight.sslsecure.co.uk/admin part of my site and it looks fine until i click something in the admin section and it then takes me back to www.theisight.com/admin ?? and hence no SSL. If you have got to here, appreciate your time to read this!!!
