TextField in PRICE Column

Hi all,

 

There is one pecuiliar requirement.

 

One of the client whose shop runs osCommerce has few products without price (it links to some other site). For these products, he wants to put TEXT content on the PRICE Field.

 

Is this Possible..

 

else, whats the alternative solution ?

How about doing something like in this contribution ?

The sold out contribution checks for 0 quantity to dispaly another picture but you could use a similar approach to display text instead of the product price. You could assign all products where it would apply for a quantity of -1 or something and based upon that take some action in all the appropriate files. This assumes the quantify field is irrelevant for these products but if I understand correctly that is true for those products as they link to another website.
