html files not recognised

Hi

I have nimmit sef in two sites and am trying to put an html file in the root of both and it comes up as a not found.

Does anyone know if this is a problem with nimmit?

 

I got over the problem of putting a different index file for my own use (don't ask :-) with -

 

DirectoryIndex index.htm index.html index.php

 

but i don't know how to allow other .html files in (google sitemap verify file needs to be in root)
