But i don't think you really need one. I would go through these sites and see exactly what's different from a standard oscommerce site (not including design of course) and figure out exactly what it is you need and then post that here so that some of the programmers can help you with it. ozEworks
If you do a search you should find that in 2003 an Australian guy developed a site to do this but his site closed down. I don't know if he still has his code and/or is contactable. I tried to contact him yesterday as I am interested in adapting it for a library system for my daughter's local school which I want to "donate" to them. I will let you know if he responds but no doubt his email contact is old. What this kind of site revolves around is using the Wishlist as the rental queue. So you need to look into that. cannuck1964
The rental queue system is an interesting concept. And I doubt netflix uses this at all. They are such a large company, they would most likely set it up as a sale/return system, where if the item is not returned in a specific time frame, the sale amount is entered against their account holding. The rental queue system being built on the wish list system, would be interesting, but the returns will still need to be totally re-coded, as well, you will need to track who has what, and when they are to be returned. I have worked on rental systems using osC and did not use this approach, rather we re did the shopping_cart class and added in a new function to deal with the rental queue issue... cheers, Peter M.
