Guest Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Hi, I have an OSC web-shop that has a page-rank 4/10 in Google, which as I understand it means that I have a good number of links pointing to my site. I have asked my developers (as I don't understand programming myself) to add relevant key-words to the meta-tags. I have not stuffed the tags with keywords or anything like that, though, just added the relevant words one time. I have also altered the name/title of my shop, so that the title that shows up as a heading in the Google search results begin with the two most important key-words. For a short while after these changes, my site jumped from page 8 in Google to page 1, number 3. But then after two weeks, it dropped again. Now, my site comes up on page 2, but not with my first page but with another, not as important page. The sites that come up before mine on Google all have a lower page-rank than mine.. On all the other search engines, my site comes up as no 1. Please - does anyone understand what has happended and how I can change it?? I would greatly appreciate your imput! /Itzy :blink:
Jack_mcs Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 PR has little to do with your index position. My guess is that the page is not optimized properly for your keyword.
