Guest Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Hi, I'm still configuring our installation of oscommerce. I have come across a situation where some products being listed have more than one price based on say colour, size etc. Have search through the contributions for ideas and the forum but no joy. Any body out there encountered anything similar and advise on a solution. Thanks in advance
keltic Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 You will need to use attributes. If you search in the forum or contributions section you will find code to alter your files. Simple idea shows a drop down list of all the various options you offer and their prices. Although if you have a vast range be careful which contribution you choose as it can be time consuming inputting all the attributes. Also some of the contributions don't sort the products so look for attributes sort as well.
parma Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Hey, I am using product attributes at the moment. I have a slight problem, as I do not have a base price simply because the product is available in different sizes. Is it possible to have a price range of the sizes when browsing the catalogue instead of ?0.00? Thanks M Parmar
Guest Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 HI there. My problem is a little different but similar...maybe you all can help me, please???. Some of my products must be priced&sold in Euros, other products in other currencies not in the Euro zone. My bank collects in the right currency. I have separated them into different categories, depending on where they originate. How do I display the Euro prices in the category for Euro based products and the others in their own categories, please? Many thanks...
Guest Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Master Products is good in some situations - you can see it used for clothing sizes at Google Store :D Matti
Guest Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 HI Matti, Thanks for the Great Suggestion. I hadn't even thought of that contribution as a possible answer. I am pleased to see that the Google Store is on osC! Of course... They have screwey prices...too. Goofey prices like $32.04. Question please? For example... Is there a way for me to really <display and charge> exactly 5 Euro for something ... if it is in the Category I assigned for Euro Zone customers, ....and, hence, the price is always 5 Euro in that category? :D Sure, our good friends 'down under' will be pleased to see such things in our shop in an equivalent AUD Australian Dollars number generated by osC, but I guess you get the idea. At 'home,' at least in the Category for the relevant 'home market,' I'd like to greet people with a stable number...so when they come back for a refill (on the service we sell) they always know EXACTLY what it will cost in the money 'in their pocket' before they start clicking to our checkout, so to speak. ~ This makes it easier for me to buy from my wholesaler, too, because he sells product in predefined quantities/prices, and if the real value is flying around the exchange rates, it will be tough to get his system to send me the right amount in each PIN. Tough, equals 'more and more expensive to buy from him,' due to his hassle costs in adjusting his programming for me. ~ Yes it is a 'touchy feely' kind of thing, but it helps people relax about the stress of the risks of buying online... My bank 'collects in the right currency,' so it is OK for me to have multiple currencies and it is one more little thing to make the customer feel better. Can I do this please> You are an expert...what do you think, please? Many many thanks! Charles
