Several checks are performed to ensure a healthy setup of your online store - these checks can be disabled by editing the appropriate parameters at the bottom of the includes/application_top.php file.

Editing Page Texts

 

The text shown here can be modified in the following file, on each language basis:

 

[path to catalog]/includes/languages/english/index.php

 

That file can be edited manually, or via the Administration Tool with the Languages->English->Define or Tools->File Manager modules.

 

The text is set in the following manner:

 

define('TEXT_MAIN', 'This is a default setup of the osCommerce project...');

 

The text highlighted in green may be modified - it is important to keep the define() of the TEXT_MAIN keyword. To remove the text for TEXT_MAIN completely, the following example is used where only two single quote characters exist:

Securing The Administration Tool

 

It is important to secure the Administration Tool as there is currently no security implementation available.

Everytime I start editting I keep getting errors can someone give the code that I can copy off so I can paste it on my index editor?

Someone please help me I didn't it one time an I forgot how to do it. everytime I take one word off to make sure its going to do it and it gives me errors like this

delete all text between the ' and the closing ' it's a lot of text, you may be scrolling for a bit

Read the text carefully, the answer is there.... remove the text and make a empty space after that "," with two " ' ' " like this

Just try copying the line of code below to replace line 13 in your langauges\english\index.php file. The line you posted here had a space before the first of the second set of single quotes, which may have caused the problem.

The last file works fine this end. If you are still having a problem go to the "index.php" file in your main shop directory and look around line 250-300 for the following line of code:

 

<td class="main"><?php echo TEXT_MAIN; ?></td>

 

and change it to:

 

<td class="main"><?php //echo TEXT_MAIN; ?></td>

 

the // will simply stop the server even looking for that text

 

if that doesn't fix the problem I'm out of ideas.

Ok I got it to work.... thanks I have one more question. OK on th index page where its show 9 randomly images. how can I add more lines like 3 across and 4 or maybe 5 down? where can I find that file at?
