Guest
I have worked with php a lot, but this is my first osCommerce experience. I am having trouble integrating with PayPal. The site is based in Canada. You can check it out at http://www.canadianpokerchippros.com. What he is wanting is not only the PayPal option but also the option for just simple credit card processing. And to be honest I thought PayPal did that but I can't figure out anywhere in the module to configure that, nor on their site. Did I download the wrong module? I grabbed, osCommerce PayPal IPN Module v1.0 For 2.2MS2 I have read the forums but it has lead to just simple confusion. Can someone please point me in the right direction or to the right documentation / website, so I can get the payment process working. All help is muchly appreciated. ♥peterpil19
Hi, you have downloaded the correct paypal contribution. This lets customers pay via paypal (via credit card if desired) and once payment is made (provided they hit the continue button to go back into your store) it will register in your database that the transaction is complete. I know configuring it at first instance looks difficult, but not every field in the module/paypal section of admin has to be filled in. Here's how mine looks in admin. I still haven't sorted out the paypal certificate part out yet myself. Then, in paypal, you have to turn IPN on. You need a merchant account with them. It doesn't cost anything to upgrade from your normal free account. They get their money by getting a fee for each credit card transaction. Hope this helps! Here's what my paypal module looks like: PayPal IPN Enable PayPal IPN Module True E-Mail Address (my paypal address filled in here) Transaction Currency Selected Currency Payment Zone --none-- Set Preparing Order Status default Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status default Gateway Server Live Transaction Type Per Item Page Style Debug E-Mail Address (an email adress inserted here) Sort order of display. 0 Enable Encrypted Web Payments False Your Private Key Your Public Certificate PayPals Public Certificate Your PayPal Public Certificate ID Working Directory OpenSSL Location /usr/bin/openssl CE PHOENIX SUPPORTER Support the Project, go PRO and get access to certified add ons Full-time I am a C-suite executive of a large retail company in Australia. ♥Vger
The one that you want is not the one you appear to have downloaded. The one to install is found on page 14 of the Payment Module ssection of Contributions - and it is called osCommerce Pay Pal IPN. It is the only Pay Pal IPN Module which begins with the word 'osCommerce'. However, it may not be the right one for you if your client also wants a more normal credit card type of operation. There are also Pay Pal modules for Direct Payment which has to be used in conjunction with Express Checkout. You should look at these options.
