Paypal "return to merchant" and shared SSL

I'm using the stock OSC paypal module. I recently implemneted shared SSL and I believe that is the reason why after a PayPal transaction the buyer is returned to the store but they are no longer logged in!, Cart never updates. If they log back in they are put back in the middle of the checkout phase.

 

I really need some help with this... please!

It's confirmed. I removed the changes I made for 1and1 shared SSL and the return from Paypal Works as it should.

the osC Team paypal IPN version works fine for me on different hosts ... all using shared ssl. Must be a host problem ... did you contact them?

Straight from the contribution. When I revert back paypal bounces back to the order confirmation. With these changes paypal bounces back to a log on screen.

2. The correct relative address html code for images using the dedicated ssl would be for example src="images/logo_background_default.gif" WITHOUT the '/' in the front. This is for either using your own html pages in the site or using the ever popular WYSIWYG HTML Editor which does not normally format the code in this way. Therefor you will need to manually change it.

3. In includes/configure.php adjust your configuration in the following way in the example below.

The eregi test is a faulty solution. Read this:

It will work. It's worked for lots of others. That eregi test is a very poor solution, there are too many conditions that must be met.

I made the changes and got a "store stopping error" I believe on line 45 of app_top on this:

You missed out the semicolon (in red below). And I'd comment out the useless line.

I am having the same problem with the paypal payment going through but the RETURN TO MERCHANT going to login.php rather than back to CONFIRM ORDER page.

 

Any ideas why it returns to login rather than the conformation page? I get sales but I have no record of what they buy as it doesn't save it, hence needing it to go back to the confirmation button page.

Unfortunately it's still not resolved. Just as before with SSL in place Paypal returns the user to a logon screen and the transaction is not complete. Without SSL it works fine. *%#@!@(*!!!

Nightmare. Need the SSL on it all. Doesn't it have a redirect point in the php somewhere that tells paypal where to return to?

Had some success today!

 

Re-enabled shared SSL, only this time on the PayPal side I forced a redirect back to my site's /catalog/checkout_success.php page. (Profile > Website Payment Preferences >Auto Return for Website Payments)

 

 

A test transaction worked like butter!
