Trade Discount

Hi,

Although only a newbie the site I manage is live and working well. http://www.pianocoversonline.co.uk/catalog/

However I would like to be able to offer certain customers a trade discount on certain products. Is there a way that I can do this or is there a contribution that would help me to offer discount (but only to certain customers).

Many thanks.

Paul

You will never learn if you don't try. And boy am I trying....!

A very wonderful contribution to achieve this is TotalB2B.

You can set discounts on customer group level, single customer level and manufacturer level.

Brilliant thanks - I do have a follow up question regarding the installation instructions (below)............

How do I "run the SQL file" and also how do I "Use" the MSI patched files. I am not familiar with these file types (Nor SQL) so some simple guidance would be hugely appreciated. Thanks........

Installation

------------

1) run the .sql file in the folder "Sql" of this file to apply SQL changes to

your database.

2) Use "MS2 patched files" of this file, and copy "New files" in you catalog folder.

Note: files in the folder "MS2 patched files/catalog" of this file are the

result of the application of the diff patch on a "clean" 2.2 MS2.

+ if you want to edit your file manually, consider all the changes we made to files

are between the tags "TotalB2B start" end "TotalB2B end", so search in

"MS2 patched files" for our changes... and good luck ;)

Note: we made this contribution by changing only english language files,

if you want to create your language file, view changes made in

Changed Language Files (see below).

For the SQL I hope you know how to work with phpMyAdmin (a tool provided by your host to maintain your database). If you go in there and have choosen your database you find an SQL tab on top of the screen.

Click on that SQL tab and you will see a textbox where you can copy/paste SQL commands. Now just copy the SQL commands from the provided file with TotalB2B, paste it inside this textbox and press start. If all goes well the changes will have been made to your database (make a backup of your database before you

do this in case something goes wrong !).

As for the MS2 patched files: those are all the files which have to be changed to get this contrib working. As for most contribs you have to be very careful what you are going to do now. Either compare the files one by one with the files from your osC directory or just copy them over the existing osC files. In case this is your first contribution you should be able to just copy the new files AND the MS2 patched files. However if you know you already have made changes to one or more of the MS2 patched files you can not copy the files from the package over the existing ones because with that you would loose all your other changes. In this last case you have to make the changes by hand very carefully. It sounds worse as it is although this is one of the tougher contributinos touching a lot of files.

Before you are going to start doing anything make sure you have first made a backup of all the files you are going to change or overwrite !!
